What is Lambada - Classical Lambada is the mother and roots of Brazilian Zouk it is often done on the quick count 1-2-3 -5-6-7. The Lambada dance is a renowned dance form from Brazil created by fusing elements of ‘forro, salsa, merengue, maxixe, carimbo and Bolivian saya‘. Developed in porto seguro, the dance is extremely ‘energetic’ and involves rhythmic and movements of the hips. To date, you will see a new generation of dancers dance lambada on the Brazilian Zouk Count or "Rio Count". In Lambda - Timing is foremost and you will see that timing is not broken, whichever count they use both lead and follow and steps are consistent with the bea. Rarely will you see "planted feet." Often circular in Lambada nature. What is Brazilian Zouk - Brazilian Zouk is a dance style that originated in Brazil in the 1990s. It evolved from the Lambada dance and was heavily influenced by other dance styles such as salsa, tango, and contemporary dance. Often danced in a line and connection is foremost. Brazilian Zouk is characterized by its fluid and sensual movements, often performed to contemporary pop music with a slow and steady beat. &1-2 &3-4 &5-6 &78. The dance style emphasizes a strong connection between partners, with dancers moving in close proximity and using subtle body movements to communicate and express themselves What is LambaZouk Combines elements of Lambada and Brazilian Zouk. Lambazouk combines the sensual and flowing movements of Brazilian Zouk with some of the faster movements of the Lambada. It is a mix of the two dances and counts are often exchanged. Sometimes timing will be broken or transitioned to go back and forth. ABOUT THE ARTISTS: Iago Hassuike and Vanessa Meirelles are professional dancers from São Paulo - Brazil. They have been specialists in Brazilian Zouk and Lambada since 2018.They received many awards in their career like: World Lambada Championship, National Brazilian Zouk Championship and others.Their masters were: Ariel & Letícia, Philip Miha, David & Deywylla, Rafael Machado, Daniel Darbello.They are one of the couples from the group "Geração São Paulo" and teach regular classes, study groups, workshops and in congresses all around the world. They have received many awards from championships in their specialities and in academic dances.Iago with an experience in pedagogy since 2016 and Vanessa with more then 15 years of experience in dance styles like Jazz, ballet and contemporary. Together they make a united couple and they complete eachother in a special way!With a dance based on a mix of Lambada and Brazilian Zouk and made by happiness and complicity, their dream is to share their love and passion for this art with everyone around the world!
