Goals of the class: -Learning the 3 basic positions: 1) closed position, 2) dile que no (falling position), and 3) open Position (Para ti para mi or "Guapea") -Learning To dance in Clave, a Tiempo (on 1) or Contratiempo (Son timing, On 2) -Learning basic moves for Cuban Casino such as: Saloneo, Rodeo, Caida Larga, Spin, Ola, Enchufla por la derecha, Vacila con Spin, Cedazo, and then combinations such as 70 a lo cubano, botella doble, and others -Learning Group Moves Unique to the different provinces in Cuba such as Casate, triple Complicado, Bota pa' atras, la Rosa, Pal' Piso, Arriba de la Bola and others. -The When and How to infuse Afocuban rumba into Rueda de Casino -learning Danzon and Son fundamentals and its relationship to modern day Casino dance -Building your appreciation of Cuban Music, such as: Son, Timba, Changui, Chacha and Rumba.
