About the workshops: Welcome to an immersive Solo Jazz and Charleston Dance Workshop where we will explore the vibrant world of jazz movement, rhythm, and self-expression. This workshop is designed to enhance your dance skills through a combination of rhythm exercises, technique drills, and engaging choreography. The workshop will include warm-up, rhythm exercises, focusing on syncopation, isolations, and variations in timing. Incorporate clapping patterns and footwork drills to develop a strong connection to the music. Break down fundamental jazz dance techniques, including posture, weight distribution, and body alignment. A dynamic Jazz and Charleston choreography piece in each class that combines various steps and techniques learned during the workshop. Break down the choreography into manageable sections, providing participants with the opportunity to grasp each element thoroughly. Explore the relationship between movement and music, emphasizing the importance of musicality in jazz dance. Guide participants in understanding different musical genres and how to adapt their dance to suit various rhythms and tempos.
