2 Days Contact Improvisation workshop “Defying Gravity” in Mumbai. This dynamic session is all about exploring flying techniques in the captivating art of contact improvisation. You'll learn how to create seamless transitions, fluidly lift and carry your partner, and experience the thrill of weightless flight. Through guided exercises and playful experimentation, you'll develop skills in weight sharing, momentum, and balance, allowing you to effortlessly defy gravity and unlock new possibilities in your contact improvisation practice. Contact improvisation is great as recreative practice, as the way of keeping you body in great physical condition and can be extremely useful for professional dancers to improve partnering skills. Saturday we will start from working with general principals of contact improv specifically focusing on skills which will be helpful for the flying/lifting. Second half we will brake down some forms to see how you can apply general skills to specific lifts. On Sunday first half of the session we will work with momentum and learn how to use it in the dance in a safe way.� Second half of the day will be laboratory, where everyone will be able to practice flying/lifting techniques which fits to your experience.� - Will I learn how to do helicopter(spinning partner on shoulders) or some other crazy acrobatics?� On the last part of this workshop we will have time to work on the techniques that you choose. If you already have enough experience I’ll show techniques for acrobatics on upper level and if you just starting to practice CI you can learn something more suitable for your skills.
