Have you ever seen Lambada and wondered what this beautiful, joyful dance is all about? Now is your chance to experience it yourself in Vienna! ✨ Starting this summer, we are bringing regular Lambada Classes under the Reichsbrücke before the weekly Zouk Social. Lambada is much more than a dance. It is a feeling. It is connection, playfulness, energy and community. ❤️ One of the most beautiful things about Lambada is that it is not only a couple dance. It is a community dance. People dance not only with different partners, sometimes even with more than one partner, support each other, learn together and share the joy of movement. In Lambada, you will rarely see people standing aside alone. Many concepts, movements and the feeling of connection come from the same origins. Learning Lambada can help you understand more about: ✨ timing and musicality ✨ body movement and flow ✨ connection and partner communication ✨ the structures behind many movements Sometimes Zouk is described as a dance with endless freedom, and yes, creativity is a beautiful part of Zouk. But freedom becomes even more enjoyable when you understand the structures that create the flow. Many of these principles already exist in Lambada and can help you on your Zouk journey as well. If you dance Salsa on 1, you already know the most common Lambada timing. The musical structure will feel familiar, making Lambada a surprisingly natural step to expand your dancing horizon and discover new movement qualities. Salsa dancers often connect very naturally with Lambada because the rhythm, energy and joy are already close. 🇧🇷 🌴 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐋𝐚𝐦𝐛𝐚𝐝𝐚 𝐭𝐨𝐝𝐚𝐲? Many people know Lambada from the famous Kaoma song from the 80s. This was an important moment in the history of the dance and brought the name Lambada to the whole world. But Lambada has continued to evolve. The modern form of Lambada keeps the Brazilian energy, rhythm and spirit while adding more flow, connection and creativity. It is a living dance that continues to develop while preserving its heritage. It shares many elements with Brazilian Zouk, while still being its own beautiful dance. ✨ 𝐀 𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐨𝐦 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 One of the fascinating things about Lambada is that underneath the playful and energetic surface there is a clear structure. Understanding these principles makes the dance feel more natural: the connection becomes clearer, movements flow more easily, and dancers can be creative while staying connected. This is also something that can greatly support Zouk dancers, because many of the underlying concepts are closely connected, not to say: the same. 🌱 𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐭𝐨 𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐠? No problem at all! Lambada is a wonderful first step into partner dancing because we learn together, support each other and create a relaxed atmosphere where everyone can participate. No partner needed. No previous experience required. Just bring curiosity and a willingness to move. 😊 🕒 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐝𝐮𝐥𝐞 Every Sunday* 🕒 15:00 – Lambada Class Afterwards, stay for the weekly Zouk Social under the Reichsbrücke and enjoy dancing with the community. * (Some Sundays might be cancelled due to dance festivals or events. Updates will always be announced.) 💛 𝐃𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐁𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐝 The classes are donation based because we want to make Lambada accessible for everyone and create a welcoming space where people can discover this beautiful dance without pressure. A recommended contribution for the class that will take between 90 and 105min is: 💛 Standard contribution: 15 € 🌟 Supporter contribution: 20 € There is no fixed entry fee. Everyone is welcome to join and contribute according to their situation. If you are discovering Lambada for the first time or are not able or ready to contribute the recommended amount, simply give what feels right for you. Especially if you are in a genuinely difficult financial situation due to unemployment, health issues, or other circumstances, please do not hesitate to contribute less. Guido has been teaching partner dances for many years and has trained extensively with the best Zouk and Lambada teachers in Europe and Brazil. His Lambada journey has taken him to intensive trainings, festivals and competitions, including the Lambada Mastery program in Poland. After organizing the Croatia Lambada Marathon, bringing together dancers and artists from all continents, Guido wants to bring more of this Lambada energy, joy and community spirit to Vienna.
