Dominican Bachata & Body Movement with Alice

Alice Mawhinney is back at La Encantada Collective with two new courses! Dominican Bachata (10 Wk Course) Wednesday's 6:30pm - 7:30pm Bringing Bachata back to its authentic 1960's roots in the Dominican Republic. You'll love this cheeky style (footwork & partnerwork) that incorporates fundamental Bachata rhythms along with some fun syncopations. Afro Cuban Body Movement (10 Wk Course) Wednesday's 7:30pm - 8:30pm Learn the roots and fundamentals of Afro-Cuban body movement and how to apply it to Salsa. The course will focus on breaking down body mechanics, understanding and learning the roots, music and history of the movements and then incorporating them into Salsa. We’re excited to have Alice Mawhinney running this course. Alice is a Melbourne-based dancer who trained in Guatemala. Her fusion of Modern/Contemporary techniques with Salsa and Afro-Cuban techniques makes her style beautifully unique.
