Dr. Fen Lastra Teaches at Back Room Blues! (2026-8-27)

Visiting instructor Dr. Fen Lastra joins us to teach at Back Room Blues! 7–8pm Intermediate lesson taught by Fen ($25 at the door, no pre-registration) 8:15–9pm Beginner-friendly lesson taught by Fen ($10 at the door, no pre-registration) Paying for either class gets you into the dance for free! 9pm–11:30pm Blues Dance DJ'd by Tom Corwin & Coriander! No partner or prior experience is required! If you can, wear shoes that can slide. Please avoid wearing strong fragrances. Most people come to dance with everyone there (but if you'd prefer to stick with one person that's okay too). Dr. Fen Lastra is a full-time dance geek based in upstate New York, where they work as a dance professor and historian. They have been dancing Blues since 2010, supporting events as a competition coordinator, access and safety lead, and instructor. Fen's classes are known for combining granular technique with a spirit of play and curiosity - they would love for you to ask them to dance!
