Anyone who has been to Earthshake in the summer knows that June, July and August are our BIGGEST, WILDEST dances of the year!!! Imbued by the sun, supercharged by flowering plants and trees, dipped in rivers, dirtied by gardens, fed by farms and orchards, filled with blueberries, and weathered by adventure, we come alive in the summertime like every other animal in the forests. We provide cacao to activate the heart and energy. 🫶🏼 ECSTATIC DANCE ETIQUETTE + ATTUNEMENT In order for all of us to feel most free in this space, and have the richest experiences possible, it's imperative to maintain a foundation caring - for ourselves and each other. This involves practicing consent, and attuning to yourself and others in the space:: Have clarity before dancing with anyone else either asking or accepting - consent may be asked for through body language, eye contact, words, ect - be sure to receive a clear yes from a clear ask. No's are liberating! Some people are here for connective experiences, and some people are here for solo journeyers. Most people are here for both! If someone is in an internal space with their eyes closed, that isn't the time to initiate touch or a dance. Give people the gift of their personal space. Always take a moment to check in with yourself of what you're actually needing/desiring ~ 👣 We move barefoot. Keep phones & lengthy conversations off the dance floor. This is an alcohol-free space. We dance how we wanna, there is no wrong way to move. Let's skip the judgement on ourselves + each other and allow to get weird and wild and prayerful and primal, however the music is moving you. 📸Organizers and hired photographers may take fun & quick video clips during the night. We've grown from 25 guests in 2021..... to a community that *literally* shakes the whole building while we dance! Earthshake is bursting at the the seams with passionate, talented, radicle, beautiful dancers. Come join the frey! What is ecstatic dance? A free-form movement style. As long as you are listening deeply to your body, to the music, to the space and people around you, there is no right or wrong way to do it. You can lay on the ground without budging a muscle, or you could fly through the room like dragon who just discovered that it has wings! Jump, bound, up, down, roar, cry, quake, shake, wimpier, laugh, weep, pray, become a cat, a mouse, a tree or a snake.... Whatever YOUR body, your heart, your spirit needs. The Ecstatic Dance floor can be a place for your personal somatic practice.... Just sketch. Maybe its your time to feel your limbs, and tend your muscles after a long week. It can just be a simple place to PLAY! You'll always find lovely characters who want to giggle and frolic and make a game out of the space... or perhaps, this is one of the place you come to grieve and weep for the world... for your life... Maybe it's the place you come to let out what you have been carrying to quietly or too deeply inside.. perhaps it's where you come to squeeze out the tension and shake out the frustration, so you can return to the world renewed, ready to keep carrying out your mission..... Decondition yourself here... Forget the programming that was instilled in you. You're an animal, a creature, a part of nature, a part of earth, just like the thunder and the rain, the birds and fish and ants and eagles and rivers and stones. You do not have to be who or how you were told. Revive your spirit. Uncover a lost character... Face your walls... ecstatic dance can be a rapid way to face ones block, hesitations, distrusts, insecurities and walls... and move through them... Inner conflicts will arise, and that's a good thing. Face them, melt them, learn from them, transform them. We are ALL doing it...! The walls that arise are part of there work. After months and years of regular ecstatic dance, people almost ALWAYS become freer, more authentic, expressive, confident, and dynamic in the world.... It starts on the dance floor! Come be your wild, total self!! Or just... experience... presence... Inhibitions are released. The body and mind melt into being. No judgement of self or other. You are m u l t i t u d e s.
