This dance floor gets wild. Ecstatic dance is a space for catharsis, emotional release, internal prayer, embodied meditation, play, laughter, howling and roars. The Earthshake community is growing steadily every month~ with open arms, we welcome newcomers and veterans alike. If you've been curious about ecstatic dance, this is your opportunity to dive in! Once again, he'll ope the evening with 90 min of top-tier beats. 🧚🏼‍♀️ Following Brando, we welcome Ashley Berry ( Xuxa Bluet ) to the helm ~ Ashley is a long-time friend and devoted dancer who used to be a regular champion in western MA, dancing every month at "Pollinate" in the same space we gather now. Ashley is visiting from California and we are THRILLED to have her back at Studio 444 to bring us home with a rich dance set. 8pm arrival + brief opening circle 8:20pm DJ Brando 10pm Xuxa Bluet 11:30 closing 🍊 Bring: a water bottle, your favorite dancing fit, and something to add to our 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒎𝒖𝒏𝒊𝒕𝒚 𝒂𝒃𝒖𝒏𝒅𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒆 𝒕𝒂𝒃𝒍𝒆. Each month we share nourishing snacks through the night: fruit, treats, herbal goodies, and any tasty goods you have in abundance to share. Consider bringing clothes or other items to pass on to community as well. We provide a rich cauldron of cacao! WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW : • No shoes in the space except for specialty dance-only footwear. • Be prepared to practice consent. Ask yourself first, and then any other person before engaging closely with others. Receive a clear "yes", before entering into their physical sphere on or off the dance floor. This can be done with body language/gestures or an ask. Practicing healthy boundaries allows for more openness and deeper experiences. Understand that every dancing is having a unique experience and may not wish or be able to engage. • Keep phones off the dance floor. • Please keep talking off the dance floor - unless it regards to safety, consent, and boundary. This really helps us go deep! Feel free to hang in the lounge area. • There will be some brief iPhone photos/videos taken by the organizer(s). A globally blended tapestry of beats, bumps, & baselines that penetrate to the marrow of your bones, spiraling around your spine and unearthing your moving body. Starting his career on vinyl records in 1995, Hip SockiT learned and refined his DJ capabilities amidst a burgeoning electronic scene in Western Massachusetts. Since then, he has transitioned from vinyl to a digital rig; and now carefully combs the most gifted producers in underground sound. His thoughtful transitions between sounds, styles, and textures, keeps the air moist with dancer’s sweat. Hip SockiT has DJ’ed in venues across the United States, and internationally including Greece, Germany, and Ibiza, Spain. He is one of the originators of the epic Ecstatic Dance experience called Pollinate. Brando has been featured as an emerging artist on fmainstream.com and a featured guest on the Valley Advocate’s video podcast series. ~ 𝑿𝒖𝒙𝒂 𝑩𝒍𝒖𝒆𝒕 ( Ashley Berry ) weaves sounds of organic house, world, and experimental electronic music with a sprinkling of familiar pop, hip hop, soul and dance music to create sexy soundscapes that bring you down into the earth and leave you lifted.
