This month, look forward to duo DJ Brando x Passionflower We're proud to welcome BRANDO back to the helm at Earthshake - For ten years Brando lead POLLINATE - Northampton's original First Friday ecstatic dance which lead the way for Earthshake to be born, and opened to door for so so so many dancers, dj's and artists. Once upon a time Earthshake's leaders were just nervous kids taking our first bold, cautious steps onto the dance floor. For years we were devotees like you, reveling in the magic of Pollinate, boogying and roaring to Brando's monthly sets. Today, we welcome him back for a few golden sets per year, blending Pollinate with Earthshake / Brando with Passionflower for very poignant dance juries. It's always special to have Brando join us. There is a deep, deep thread between Earthshake & Pollinate. We would not have this space each month if it weren't for the dances, dancers, organizers, and DJ's who've come before us. . DJ BRANDO offers heart opening soulful soundscapes that seamlessly weave music styles & cultures. A globally blended tapestry of beats, bumps, & baselines that penetrate to the marrow of your bones, spiraling around your undulating spine and unearthing your moving body. Starting his career on vinyl records in 1995, Brando learned and refined his DJ capabilities amidst a burgeoning electronic scene in Western Mass. Since then, he has transitioned from vinyl to a digital rig and includes a massive diversity of music. Brando carefully combs the most gifted producers in underground sound and crafts his sets focusing on the simple elements that make bodies move. His styles include: Global-Bass, Heart-Opening Electronica, Soul-Dripping Vocals, Cutting Edge Remixes, Mystical House, and Minimal Bass. His thoughtful transitions between sounds, styles, and textures, keeps the air moist with dancer’s sweat. Brando has DJ’ed in venues across the United States, and internationally including Greece, Germany, and Ibiza, Spain. He is one of the originators of the epic Ecstatic Dance experience called Pollinate. Brando has been featured as an emerging artist on fmainstream.com and a featured guest on the Valley Advocate’s video podcast series. . Andrew (Passionflower) is Earthshake's "home" DJ, laying down carefully curated mixes every single month. Passionflower sets always deliver tasteful, rocking, fiery phases of catharsis to shake out your woes - mixed with clever, fluid, unexpected tracks that encourages dancers to find new, artistic ways to move and connect. Look forward to well-timed throwbacks, nostalgic treasures, unheard artists, and tearfully beautiful integration tracks. - Passionflower has an equal reverence for gnarly, high energy music, as slow, soulful, heavily music - and everything in between. Passionflower tracks are painstakingly scoured/filtered to deliver the most emotionally rich experience possible for dancers. Look forward to sets with different flavors ors depending on the season - while every passionflower set explores different themes, genres and tempos, they all maintain a clear thread to the HEART, inviting dancers to step in and embody a full range of sacred emotions. . This is a *substance free* event. No drug or alcohol. Trust us - you don't need it. The music, joy, reverence, prayer and laughter that this community brings raises the energy higher than almost anything else. Expect to feel elated for days from dancing alone... Abundance Table : Please bring any extra, surplus food, snacks, fruit, vegetables, potions, flowers, baked goods, or other treats that you have in abundance. We do not feature for-profit food at Earthshake. Instead, we emphasize sharing individual surplus at a big, community 'abundance table'. It's fun to offer ones bounty back to the community! .
