ECSB: Follower Focus with JiJi

Lindy Hop is a conversational dance, where followers have as much say in the dance as leaders do. Break down the techniques for followers to shape, initiate, redirect, and extend moves. Followers will learn to inject creativity into the conversation beyond styling or footwork. Leads will learn to be active listeners to leave room for new possibilities and inspiration. Alternative title: followers lead and leaders follow! Familiarity with 6- and 8-count basics required. Familiarity with the following moves helpful: 6-count basic, tuck turn, right/left side pass/turn, sugar push, swing out, and lindy circle. Lesson: 7:00 - 8.00 PM (please arrive 10-15 minutes earlier for check-in) Social Dance: 8:00 - 10.00 PM (will include Lindy, Balboa, and Blues music) Sliding Scale Pricing (please pay what you can): Lesson + Social: $10-20 Just Social: $5-10 Location: Parish hall at St. John's Episcopal Church, 400 Humphrey Street Parking: There is plenty of street parking on Orange and Humphrey. Spots marked for Church Business is available for us to use. Avoid zoned resident parking spots. The closest free parking lot is Yale Lot 199 (199 Whitney), about a 10 min walk.
