ECSB: Lindy Lab w Freya, Hannah, and JiJi

Want to experiment more with different Lindy Hop concepts, or dive deeper into personal style and foundational jazz movement? Looking to deepen your understanding of musical structure and rhythmic theory to improve your dancing? Curious about what Lindy Hop dance exchanges are all about? We will be sharing concepts we’ve learned from various dance exchanges, as well as knowledge from outside of the Lindy Hop world! Come experiment and play with new concepts with us, then maybe join us at the next dance exchange! Lessons are unique and do not build on the previous week. Beginner friendly, all levels welcome. Familiarity with 6- and 8- count basics required. Week 1, July 7: Tuck Turn! Turn! Turn! w/ Freya Week 2, July 14: Thinking About Swing Music Like a Musician w/ Hannah Moore (interactive lecture format) Week 3, July 21: Handy Creativity w/ JiJi Lesson: 7:00 - 8.00 PM (please arrive 10-15 minutes earlier for check-in) Social Dance: 8:00 - 10.00 PM (will include Lindy, Balboa, and Blues music) Location: parish hall at St. John's Episcopal Church, 400 Humphrey Street Parking: There is plenty of street parking on Orange and Humphrey. Spots marked for Church Business is available for us to use. Avoid zoned resident parking spots. The closest free parking lot is Yale Lot 199 (199 Whitney), about a 10 min walk.
