His set of music give you space, excites trance and imagination and also ensures a presence in the “here and now”. To arrive fully in the now Ankie Kolhoff guides you with her handspan music intuitively to that place inside yourself where you want to be before you allow Martyns music of funky and soul-full beats to touch your heart, the heart of a dancer and listener. ✰ About Martyn ✰ For Martyn one of the reasons to find his passion for deejay-ing was the discovery of Ecstatic Dance. At the end of 2013 Martyn became and is still one of the resident-deejays of Ecstatic Dance Amsterdam. From then on Martyn also got invited by diverse Ecstatic Dance Tribes in Netherlands and Europe. He loves to share the music, the dance and the joy with these communities and gets inspired by the different vibes of the unique happening every Ecstatic Dance is. After a few years deejaying Martyn started to combine his skills as a producer/musician with his experience as a deejay. He uses his studioskills to remix and rework different music from all of the world so they become “dance floor” friendly and he can include them in his deejay-sets. Next to these remixes he is also working on his own compositions and songs to spread and share his unique deep funky and heartwarming sound all over the world. ✰About Ankie Kolhoff✰ Ankie plays her handpan in a intuitive way. "Playing the pan is not something you can learn", says Ankie "rather it is an instrument of unlearning". listening to her music brings you at ease. Following its sounds and vibrations, this instrument will bring you the place inside of yourself where you want to be. Ankie offers playful and meditative way to prepare for the dance. ✰ About Ecstatic Dance✰ Ecstatic Dance is open to everyone. Dance experience is not necessary. In the ceremony beforehand, the guidelines are explained and a safe space is created for each dancer to move freely to the music. Then dance starts with a professional DJ who offers a dance journey through a contemporary musical dance landscape. Ecstatic Dance is a free form of dance with the goal to achieve ecstasy. This is a natural state in which your awareness shifts and you get to experience a meditative and happy state of mind through body movement. Besides the fact that it is a lot of fun to move your body to music, Ecstatic Dance is also scientifically proven to help your mental & physical health. Ecstatic Dance can be also seen as a dance work-out. Ecstatic Dance Arnhem keeps community alive. We dance together, we start and end together.
