Soothe your nerves, boost your mood, and nourish your soul at our booze-free dance party at the Awaken (Center for Human Evolution) from 6-10pm! (Bonus: their retail shop is staying open late so attendees can snag last-minute gifts from their spiritual shop!) ECSTATIC DANCE is a three-part ceremonial sound and movement journey through a warm-up, DJ set, and sound bath. All beings and experiences welcome, no prior experience necessary, and no talking on the dance floor (this is an intentional offering to feel IN YOUR BODY not your mind, to let go of blocked energy, to play, to rest, to find our flow, to "fill our cups" with embodied aliveness -- if you want to chit-chat or drop-in with an old or new friend--no shame! just step to the retail shop side!) This ECSTATIC DANCE AT THE MALL is taking place in what *was* an old Victoria's Secret. It's definitely got romantic energy in the walls, and we may be hosting a Tarot Reader in one of the old dressing rooms, but all the while, this is a family-friendly, kid-welcome event! ******************************************************************************************************** Jaya Kava is bringing the herbal elixir bar and delicious organic treats to quench your thirst and nourish your soul. #GetLooseWithoutTheBooze is the hashtag we use to promote our brand of potent tea-based cocktails that induce a euphoric vibration without inebriation (because there is no alcohol!) Our primary offering is hand-squeezed kava kava tea, traditionally and inventively prepared with a 5-hour processing of each brew batch. It is plant medicine for STRESS & ANXIETY and an herbal alternative to drinking beer or wine to "unwind". Your first taste of kava, kava lemonade or our specialty queen's kava is 100% FREE! The cost of bar drinks and organic treats are per-item (not included in dance party ticket price), yet I assure you that our prices are less than you would find anywhere else for this level of intentional and organic quality <3 Plan to come hungry and thirsty and STAY TUNED: We will be sure to post our full bar and treat menu at least a week before the event; so you can get a sense of what to expect! ******************************************************************************************************** SCHEDULE : 6-7 PM: Arrival (Happy Hour at the Jaya Kava Bar) 7-8 PM: Warm up (Yoga Warm-Up with Jai Buddhi) 8-9:30 PM: Dance DJ Set (sick DJ TBA) 9:30-10 PM: Sound Healing (Sound Bath with Richie Parrella) ******************************************************************************************************** SCHEDULE EXPLAINED 5:30 -7:00 pm: Happy Hour at the Jaya Kava Bar; enjoy $1 off drinks and peruse the spiritual gifts for sale at the AwakenCHE retail shop while making new friends :) 7:00-8:00pm: Yogic Warm-up with Jai Buddhi, your kava mama and yoga translator. Jai has been practicing yoga for more than a decade and acquired her 200hr certification in Vinyasa Yoga in South Philadelphia in 2016 and her 300hr advanced certification in Hatha Yoga in India in 2018. She loves to invite playfulness into the class and reminds you often to come back to your breath. BRING A MAT! 8-9:30pm: After a short Opening Circle, DJ _______ will be spinning the grooviest set to help you connect to your spirit in the form of dance. There are a couple guidelines here: No talking on the dance floor, no photography or filming, and no shoes on the dance floor. Consent is a must when dancing with a new partner (we'll walk you through how to do so at the opening circle <3) 9:30-10pm: Richie Parrella will guide us through a Sound Bath to soften after all of the movement and settle into our new selves. 10-10:30pm: To close out the experience, we will gradually awaken from Richie's sound journey to form a circle. We'll invite a few folks to share their experience if they feel the flutter of a quickened heart in their chest and a calling to express (especially if you don't usually speak) and we'll send out prayers of peace and healing to all beings. The AwakenCHE retail shop and Jaya Kava Bar will happily remain open as long as there is energy to serve. <3 So feel free to grab some food or drink or shop a bit after the dance.
