Ecstatic Dance+, Community Event (Potluck BYOB) and Party

𝐄𝐜𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐃𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞+ 𝐀𝐧 𝐀𝐥𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐄𝐦𝐛𝐨𝐝𝐢𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐌𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭, 𝐌𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐜, 𝐒𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐁𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐡. Ecstatic Dance+ is a movement practice that combines the elements and music structure of ecstatic dance, plus (+) a little extra! Ecstatic Dance+ is infused with somatic and dance/movement therapy healing approaches and brief exercises designed to deepen your dance experience and connection with self and others. Ecstatic dance is a free form dance practice where participants move to music without choreography or set steps, allowing for self-expression and connection with their bodies and the music. 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭: 7:00pm: Doors Open: Settling in, stretching, etc. 7:30: Opening circle (with a beverage included-TBD)** 7:45: Brief somatic exercise and meditation (Facilitated by Michele Iemolo)** 8:00: Ecstatic Dance+ music set with music by DJ Sapo (Mikey Chavez)** 9:30: Closing Circle and Integration (Facilitated by Michele Iemolo) 9:45-12:00am: Free-form dance party and community hang. We will be playing another pre-recorded Ecstatic Dance set as well as other music after. Contact Improv and all other dance forms are welcome. ** Our intention is to create an intentional container between 7:30 and 9:30. Please arrive on time and plan to stay for the duration of the session. If you need to arrive late please integrate respectfully or come for the later portions of the evening. His music spectrum goes from contemporary ethnical music to folk tronic, down tempo, organic house, afro house, Peruvian folk tech house, and micro house. DJ Sapo’s music journeys are mesmeric experiences that transcend space and time taking you on a dynamic flow through a highway of musical adventure. Through the fusion of Latin beats, ecstatic grooves, psychedelic waves and mystical rhythms his music lends you to focus on the present moment, allowing yourself to be guided to the magic of the musical expedition. With sensitivity to the energy of the crowd, DJ Sapo gently leads you into a spirited world of pure ecstatic bliss. 𝐀𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫- Michele Iemolo: With a background in various healing and therapeutic modalities, from psychology to sound healing, Michele Iemolo believes that dance, movement and the co-creative process within community and group settings, leads to the highest form of healing, self-awareness and connection with self and others. Michele is a registered dance movement therapist, 200-hour yoga teacher and licensed psychologist. She is also the founder of Embodied Heart Space, LLC. Michele has been dancing for over 30 years and has been a part of the Albuquerque and Santa Fe dance community since moving here in 2016.
