Ecstatic Dance is a practice of moving meditation, a process of liberation, and an opportunity for raw, authentic expression. If you are new to edance, please read the rules below. Dance every Thursday 8-10pm Dj Kat’s soundscapes blend deep earth grounding vibes with angelic frequencies and overtones, to take you higher. Her mixes are a combination of world beats, deep bass, dubstep, medicine music, house and sacred chant. She’s traditional in honoring a 5Rhythms flow as Ecstatic Dances are an offshoot from. The dancers present are part of the inspiration, the mood, the music woven into a set in the moment with medicine as its intention. This Thursday at Roots to Crown she’s including “The Hero’s Journey” by Joseph Campbell, as a format in creating a journey that offers dancers reflection on life’s challenges and coming full circle … to now. Practice Non-verbal consent - Allow everyone the space to dance apart. - To interact, make eye contact, and 'listen' for a yes. - Respect solo dancers' space - Hands in prayer means, "I see you, and thank you for the dance (that just ended)." This is a transformational space for healing, connection, and expression. Inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated.
