Ordered and sorted in accordance with that which is the (an) Ecstatic Dance journey. I will be returning from 3 months of travel around Thailand, Japan and Korea while having been immersed in Contact Improvisation for 7 of those weeks. I'll be bringing a collection of sounds and textures that I've picked up while on my journey. From the slow flow of water, rippling syncopation and stacatto stutter of jazz, electronic grime, and any and everything in between. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Pre-Dance Workshop ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Title: Contact Improv Facilitator: Elohim Earthprayer About CI Contact Improvisation, as a life-practice and relational philosophy, serves as a living metaphor through which we may (re)discover and ask ourselves, in every moment, "what's here right now?" and then preceive the answer in a real-time feedback loop of conscious awareness colored with concepts of desire, listening, reflex, reaction & response as they alchemizes the past and present of social, cultural, and individual stories alongside the forces of inertia, gravity and momentum. About the Workshop We start nearer to the beginning: What is CI and how do we invite, explore and align to the ongoing investigation that was started in 1972 by Steve Paxton. This will be an experimental class that hopes to provide some foundations for our Seattle Ecstatic community that desires to explore more CI. Solo explorations. Partner practices.
