Join us at Indra's Awarehouse THURSDAY DECEMBER 7TH for a soulful Ecstatic Dance from 7:30pm-10pm. Your's truly (Rael Noonan) will be curating a 90+ minute playlist with live improvisational vocals and instrumentation throughout, bringing a unique experience for your dancing pleasure. The musical selection does contain lyrics/content of a mature nature and parental discretion is advised. That being said, all are certainly welcome. It's a total vibe and it's all about love. YUH! 🙏💚💪 We invite you to drop into presence in your own body and with those around you, for an evening of authentic physical movement & community building. We aim at creating a unique 'ecstatic dance' experience where we invite you to arrive as you are, into a space where frolic and vocalizations are welcomed. In addition, feel free to bring your instruments that you find can/will harmonize with the experience. This is a place to come, experience and create. Partner dancing and/or contact improv is certainly welcome too, provided consent is given between any/all parties involved. Ecstatic dance is a safe container for intuitive movement that invokes internal ethereal energies, allowing people to transcend mundane existence through unchoreographed/non-performative dance. Drop in and harmonize with musical vibrations, experiencing profound liberation, divine union, & peace. Suggested donations at the door are $11-$22. This is a sliding scale to help with those in potential financial lack. Pay what feels right and support where/how you can. EVENT SCHEDULE: 7:30pm: Doors open for Ecstatic Dance 8pm: Opening Ceremony, Introduction to Ecstatic Dance, Expectation Setting and Intention Setting 8:15pm: Dance Begins and continues for 90+ minutes. Here we invite you to arrive as you are either in dance, stillness, contemplation or whatever way appeals to you. 9:45-10pm: Dance winds down, followed with sound healing and an optional closing circle for those who may feel compelled to share in their experience. 10pm-11pm: Free to roam around decompress/recharge and connection. Indra’s Awarehouse has become a cherished part of East Austin’s historic arts heritage at a time when Austin is experiencing rapid changes. For over ten years, the space has been a magnet for ecstatic dancers, aerialist, acrobats, live music & performance arts. It continues to be a beacon of creativity and a haven for collaborative connection.
