April (Ax‪é) Charmaine is ‬an award-winning holistic dance and performing arts educator, world-renowned choreographer, embodiment guide, healer and dance empowerment consultant. With a background in dances of the African Diaspora including West African, Dances of the Orixas, Hip Hop, 5 Rhythms, Soma Source, Ecstatic Movement, Ballet, Jazz, Musical Theatre, Guerilla Theatre, Performance Art, Yoga, and Modern Dance, including Horton and Dunham Technique. She has a gift for fusing the forces of form and freedom and creating safe spaces that cultivate authentic personal expression. She has taught, performed and trained for the past 30 years in the United States, Ghana, Guatemala, Brasil, Colombia, France and Spain. The opening class blends seamlessly into the the two hour freeform dance journey facilitated by our guest DJ.
