After years of studio collaboration and touring the world, Shawn has transformed his West Coast Bass roots into a new brand of World beat EDM. Early collaborations with Reggae Royalty Steel Pulse and Ska rebels Fishbone greatly influenced Shawn’s Dub/ Bass sound. In 2010 Shawn joined Breakbeat legend Freq Nasty performing their Original studio tracks across Australia on the wildly successful Park Life tour. Shawn’s soulful vocal style in combination with the massive DubStep sound proved to be a standout on a tour that included artist M.I.A, digitalism and French Electro giants Justice. Upon returning from his first EDM music world tour that ranged from Singapore to Sydney, Shawn landed on the island dance music mecca of Ibiza where he spent two years Djing and producing music with artists from Andy Taylor of Duran Duran and Ricky Rankin from Nightmares On Wax. With the success and growing inspiration of his expanding European collaborations, Shawn found his way to Paris and completed tracks with the rising electronic group The Stereo Flow and even up to Amsterdam and London to collaborate with pop stars Jason Mraz and James Morrison. In 2014 Shawn returned to Los Angeles and its thriving Bass music scene where he began composing and producing music for the avant-garde international Circus Company The Lucent Dossier Experience. Shawn’s music and Lucent Dossier performed main stages from Thailand’s Wondefruit festival, Canada’s Shambala festival, Burningman, Lightning in a Bottle and headlining the Coachella Music festival’s massive multi media Sahara stage. Always pushing the boundaries of dance music, Shawn continued to work in studio with artists across many musical genres. He frequently shared stages with artists from Moby, Major Laser, Citizen Cope and many more. In 2018 Shawn produced and performed with The Earth Harp on the CBS show World’s Best and America’s Got Talent, as well as placing original music in Film and TV. Producing and writing from his recording studio in Topanga Cyn, 2019 is in full swing and SHAWNBARRY music is set to share all new dance tracks with exciting artists collaborations. The new wave of original EDM starts in the fall with the release of “Still Thinkin Bout Me” on E1 records. 2020 has been a year of creation and sharing new music. The Endangered Spirits Project is a new release dedicated to the protection of Endangered species around the globe. The Album consists of 12 tracks featuring 12 endangered animals, voices and environmental sounds.
