Ecstatic Dance LA is a sober, all ages, freeform dance event for people of who love movement, diverse music, healing, and soul invigorating celebration. We gather with the intention to create a safe space for our community to explore the bliss of world class DJ driven music, conscious dance, and movement as medicine. The experience is a modern day ritual where the communion of people, sound, and movement serve as mediums of transformation. Join us for an afternoon of world class music, movement facilitation and celebration as we welcome the world renowned Mark de Clive-Lowe to Ecstatic Dance LA! He has been involved with over 200 releases, collaborating with as diverse a range of artists as Lauryn Hill, Jody Watley, Shirley Horn, UK soul singer Omar, percussionist Sammy Figueroa (Miles Davis), and bass player Pino Palladino (D'Angelo/The Who). ~ Dancing Freedom by Atasiea ~ dancingfreedom.com Our Dancing Freedom® class, lead by Atasiea is a guided dance and movement meditation ceremony which integrates freeform movement practice, spirituality, somatic healing and music. It centers itself around communion with the elements: earth, water, fire, air, ether, and the use of dance as a way of prayer. Dancing Freedom helps us broaden our experience of a healthy connection to all that is. Atasiea - Pronounced: ah-tah-see-ay (a.k.a. Kenneth Lawrence Ferguson) is a certified Dancing Freedom Facilitator, Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga Instructor, Reiki Master, Channel, Minister, Energy & Bodyworker, Professional Actor, Dancer, and Martial Artist. He is the Co-producer and resident Yoga instructor of Ecstatic Dance Los Angeles. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- *** HOW IT WORKS: To begin, a special warm up yoga or movement class is facilitated by skilled practitioners. The opening class blends seamlessly into the the two hour freeform dance journey facilitated by our guest DJ. At the end of the DJ set, we close with some sound healing, or group exercise to ground and complete the experience. *** WHAT TO EXPECT *Children under 16 dance free! *No unauthorized photo or video allowed. *Complimentary earplugs. *Ecstatic Dance is a barefoot practice.
