We go on exploration, dare to be vulnerable and gently push our boundaries. There are three simple basic guidelines to ED: "No shoes. No booze. No chitchat." So we come together connecting our bare feet to the earth, purely communicating through our bodies, and celebrating life in all its aspects! We welcome you exactly as you are now! So you are entirely free to follow your own needs during the dance. Each ED starts and ends with a ceremony in which we make time and space to connect with ourselves, the others, the space, the vibrations, our intentions and the larger ED tribe. The concept of ED arose in Hawaii and California, and has grown extensively over the years, weekly touching many hearts and bodies all over the world - including New York, London, Amsterdam, Ibiza, Berlin, Bali and Barcelona. And since September 2014... we warmheartedly have been welcoming you to: Ecstatic Dance Belgium! Now in Antwerp, Ghent, Leuven and Brussels! Together we dance as a manifestation of love and peace on Earth! ▬▬▬▬▬ ★ ABOUT MISTER RED ★ ▬▬▬▬▬ Mister Red is the stage name of Shane Cogan from Ireland. He found his passion for making music a decade ago. He has spent the past decade living and working all over the world, as a human rights worker and creative thinker. And started experimenting with sounds from genres ranging from downtempo to progressive house and psy-ambient. And then discovered the Ecstatic Dance scene on Koh Phangan, Thailand in 2016. He is a regular Ecstatic Dance DJ at Pyramid on the island. Most of his Ecstatic Dance sets can be found on his Mixcloud and Soundcloud links below. He has played in Europe, Asia and Africa. He set up the first ever Ecstatic Dance scene in Kenya, East Africa – bringing local musicians together during his sets. He also set up the Uwazi Beats label in Kenya. In the second half of 2019, while experimenting with new sounds, using Ableton, he found a way to express his feelings through the electronic progressive and downtempo side of music, resonating with many kinds of genres, while deeply influenced by ecstatic dance and its multiple layers of borderless music and sound journeys. Mister Red released his first progressive house track (Forbidden Fruit) on the Uwazi Beats label. He has since produced Elderlinks, which was released on Green mono music studio (sub-label of Proton music) on 23.12.19. His latest track, Belisama, a downtempo vibe was released on the Cafe de Anatolia label on 25.12.19. He is currently working on his debut album (‘Dune Shadows’) - set to be released sometime in January 2020, which is heavy on the ecstatic dance vibe and follows a downtempo beat. He hopes to play at a series of ecstatic dance venues across Europe in February to promote the EP and play at new spaces.
