This is a community space open to all ages and expressions. --------------------------------------------------------------- VESICA is an Oakland (CA) based Ecstatic Dance DJ who has been dancing at the legendary mothership of Ecstatic Dance at Sweets Ballroom, Oakland since its inception in 2008. In 2010, VESICA co-founded Ecstatic Dance Berlin, the first pioneer in the global spread of ecstatic dance. Since then VESICA has been invited to play ecstatic dances far and wide -among them Lightning in a Bottle, Moscow, Barcelona & Ibiza, to Nevada City, Los Angeles, and of course, Oakland, to name a few. VESICA is a dancers’ DJ with a predilection for soulful organic world beats and scrumptious global bass. Her sets are poly-genre, tempo-morphing, dance floor love that irresistibly moves feet, hips and heart into a deep and embodied journey of catharsis and transformation. She often starts her day with a cup of tea. From Puer to herbal infusions, she appreciates the medicine of plants. When she sits for her meditation or movement practice, a cup of tea guides her to focus and be present. She enjoys serving tea, having conversations and creating a cosy space. During her travels all around the world she had the opportunity and interest to learn about medicinal plants and tea. She is continuously learning and humbled by the culture of tea in China and Japan. Alessandra loves crafting herbal blends combining medicinal properties in tea, but above all, she is a passionate chocolate maker! Her recent creation, La Gourmande, delicious raw cacao truffles, pair divinely with tea. Both tea herbal blends and cacao truffles are available for purchase.
