Welcome to Alchemia Sunday's hosted by Ecstatic Dance NYC Dancing Fam we return to the amazing Saint Paul and Saint Andrew's Church in the Upper West side for kick off of our Sunday Dance Series for 2024. Our last sunday dance back in October with Equonamous was one for the books. We cant wait to return and come together in community. This dance will mark the first in our series titled Alchemia Sundays- This will incorportate what all of our dances have to offer plus some more elements and surprises. The Church is the perfect container for us to come together in song, dance, sharing, and to hone in on our practice. Alchemia is also the name of our new dance space and yoga studio located in Bushwick Brooklyn where we aim to be a home for our community. More on that soon. Full details will be announced shortly. Doors 430pm- come early, stretch, chill, meditate and mingle. We will be giving time for folx to have some off the dance floor connections with tea, some food to share 530pm-630pm Warm Up - Each dance features a different warm up presented by teachers and practitioners from various fields and modalities. Here's a little bit about what it is: ❃ Ecstatic Dance is a community gathering for people who want to express themselves freely, to connect, and to expand together through the inspiration of music & dance. ❃ Live DJs | Live Drumming | Free-Form Movement | Workshops | Sound Meditation | Massage | High Vibe Food & Elixirs | Community ❃ ❃ Join us and enjoy a safe and inspiring space to dance without talking, drinking, and the nightclub vibe. This is about self-expression, freeing your mind and body, and connecting with yourself and those around you. No booze, no shoes and no chit-chat on the dance floor helps us keep it intentional. Amazing music helps us keep it all about dance. ❃ There will also be a beautiful lounge space to relax, decorated as well as refreshing, alcohol-free beverages and food. ➤ Guidelines: 1. No talking on the dance floor (plenty of room to talk on the sides and lounge area) 2. Drug-Free, Smoke-Free, Alcohol-Free environment 3. No photos or videos, cellphones muted and out of sight 4. Respect for the space and one another 5. Move your body however you wish! ➤ What to Bring: 1. Loose-fitting clothes that let you move your body and free yourself 2. Water and a water bottle. You can refill it at the venue. We do not provide plastic cups as we strive to be a zero-waste event. 3. Coat check will be available to allow dancers to store their coats, bags and other valuables. You can also leave your belongings in the back of the dance floor, but please note that Ecstatic Dance NYC is not responsible for any lost/stolen items. ➤ Where: Saint Paul and Saint Andrew Church ➤ Tickets: starting at $30 Tickets are non-transferable between events and non-refundable. REMINDERS: Beware of fake ticket sellers offering tickets on the Facebook page. Be mindful of others personal space and always ask for consent. It takes all of us to create this container.
