CLACK! & Shamans Dream! - The Band: Chris Berry & The Boom Clacks create rhythmic sound spheres to unite Heaven and Earth. We approach music/dance as an ancient healing prayer to become our greater selves. We aim for our art to usher in unity throughout humanity and all relations, and to uncover life’s power and beauty. Our music is based on the healing rhythms of the Bana Kuma which means Sacred Altering. Many of our melodies are ones that invite everyone to sing along, infusing the sounds with whatever intention we each so choose. Come ready to dance, sing, expand, heal and experience the elation of your greater self awakened by music. The Ceremony: We begin and end with an honoring or the four directions. We invite everyone to set their intentions, and we call in those who would lay down their prayers with our own. We play four elemental pieces to invoke air, water, fire, and earth. Each piece features lyrical, or yin, sections with call-and-response songs and sustaining grooves. We invite you to sing along. We will also express each element with more yang sections that are rhythmically driven towards ecstatic dancing. In tradition with Ecstatic Dance, we ask that there be no talking in the dance area. We also ask that no one be touched without their consent; we regard free will with high honor. Chris Berry: Under the tutelage of masters, Chris began playing the sacred rhythms of Africa at a young age. He has continued to do so for the the past 38 years, living with the Shona people of Zimbabwe for 10 years and performing throughout 24 different countries in Africa. Now, as a celebrated composer and Grammy award winner, Chris has turned his focus to creating rhythms for healing and expansion, bridging the ancient wisdom of African music to Western culture. And so comes Ecstatic Organic, a combination of new and ancient musical technologies designed for healing and expansion. Sita Devi - As a natural performer, Sita was put into dance and gymnastics at the age of three and soon began choreographing small theater for her parents' dinner parties. Her performing career advanced, receiving a BFA in dance from University of California Santa Barbara and is a co-founder and facilitator of the Ecstatic Dance Retreat on the Big Island of Hawaii. After some years of performing, Sita began to dive deeply into her yoga practice, realizing that this was the true path of her heart. www.SitaDeviLove.com All are Welcome.
