Since 2012 she has been experimenting with electronic music, downtempo beats and deep bass, organically merging soul-inspired vocals with a variety of percussive instruments, including the Indian tabla, darbuka and hangpan. Sometimes these elements are applied in her ecstatic dance live sets which have been a part of her latest focus in her musical journey. In continuing to uncover and reclaim her belonging to earth-based Judaism, Gavrila finds great joy in stringing together holy prayer with melody. It is through this practice that she feels most in communion with all that is holy. Gavrila is a long-time mindfulness practitioner and educator. Over the last decade, she has taught mindfulness to various populations around the world. She continues to build and facilitate trauma-sensitive mindfulness offerings both independently and in collaboration with organizations that enhance belonging, connection, and care. Based in Santa Cruz, Gavrila currently offers in-person and virtual somatic psychotherapy, as well as ketamine assisted psychotherapy.
