Ecstatic Dance SLC is excited to announce a special evening with VOLO, Scott Nice and Amritaji. This is a substance-free, community event where you can simply be yourself, and experience rejuvenation and inspiration through connection, dance & music. 🎭 Masks are optional. If you're not feeling well, please stay home. More info: https://unisonfest.com About the artists: VOLO - An avid musician from a young age, electronic producer VOLO crafts deeply emotive & cinematic soundscapes that resonate with intense spirituality and creative dexterity. Embodying the wonder and triumph of Mother Earth, VOLO artfully fuses together world instruments, ethereal soundscapes, and driving synths. In the process, his tracks defy genres and constraints, oscillating between orchestral production, future bass, house, and downtempo. Carefully crafting intricate layers and textures of sound, VOLO leaves fans discovering new details with every listen. VOLO’s music-making can be seen as a personal journal where memories become lessons and thoughts become an orchestra of emotions paint a sonic tapestry that strongly embraces the joy of being alive. Scott Nice - Northern California producer Scott Nice brings the listener’s mind and heart into a flowing adventure through world music colors, sounds of the jungle, and dance music aesthetics. Nice, a former turntablist who has logged time in the skateboard and snowboard industries, returned to making music with a newfound clarity and focus following health challenges that saw him stop making music for an extended period. The healing arts and indigenous wisdom that supported his recovery weave a thread in every song he creates, finding a place within the juxtaposition of his skateboard-soaked childhood and heart-centered present. Through inner journey and personal triumph, Nice has arrived at an exotic cross-section of styles, yet maintains a sound all his own. In 2016 Jumpsuit Records released Scott's freshman album 'All the Wild Creatures' and in 2017 the follow-up EP 'One Under the Sun'. In 2018 he released his sophomore LP ’A People Called Home’ and 2019 saw the release of Scott’s first remix album comprised of 11 producers including El Buho, Uji, Volo, and more. Scott has been a featured producer and remixer on many releases including Ayla Nereo, Wildlight, Volo, Equanimous, DJ Taz Rashid, and The Polish Ambassador albums. Amritaji- Amritaji (Amrit Dhillon) has been spinning psychedelic worldbeat and bass music since 2007. Coming from her roots in psytrance, she has spent the last decade playing at electronic music events, festivals and Ecstatic Dances around the world. Her unique style of weaving the traditional music of Eastern and indigenous cultures with electronic bass and dance music started with her love for sonic-induced states of trance after practicing traditional Sanskrit Kirtan when she was in high school. A lifelong musician, Amritaji is passionate about blending traditional and modern music, giving her audiences a distinct sonic experience of deep basslines, Eastern melodies and uplifting grooves. Her passion is for creating sacred dance journeys to offer a sonic space for healing, free and authentic expression, and fun! She regularly performs in Salt Lake City, across the US and internationally. Amritaji founded Ecstatic Dance Milwaukee in 2016. She currently lives in Salt Lake City, where she is a resident DJ and DJ trainer at Ecstatic Dance Salt Lake City. She is a DJ trainer with Dance The Medicine, an ambassador for Ecstatic Dance Records. She has also been featured on Street Ritual Records. 👶🏻 No childcare is provided yet. Guidelines for the space: * Substance-free space * No photography, video, tech (texting, scrolling, etc.) in the dance room. * No street shoes on the dance floor. If you don't wish to dance barefoot, dance shoes are allowed. * Clearly consensual partner dancing/touch ONLY. * While physical distancing mandates have lifted, please be aware and courteous of varying comfortability and readiness on the part of those around you.
