We will have special guest Rebecca Foster leading us in a guided "Embody Freedom" warm up focused on the theme of Connection and Individuation. EMBODY FREEDOM ( https://embodyfreedom.net/) is an invitation to enlighten, empower and expand our moment to moment experience of being alive. The focus of the Embody Freedom inquiry & practice is an embodied recognition of our innate, childlike, wise-hearted, ever-accessible freedom. We do this by repeatedly touching into our own version of HEART-FULL PRESENCE while full heartedly playing in the realms of CONNECTION, WONDER & SURRENDER. For support, we draw from the rich & varied traditions of contemplative practice, authentic movement, conscious dance, laughter-yoga, musical improvisation, reflective inquiry & creative play. Rebecca Foster is not only an avid dancer, dance space provider (Studio 116 Calvary- https://116calverly.wordpress.com/) and professional dance leader/teacher, she is also a local HERO in helping create our dance community! She founded and maintains the RI Conscious Dance website, a listing of ALL Conscious Dance events and continues to inform via email an ever growing interested group of dancers about the authentic movement dance events and classes that are happening locally. Let's review! Imagine the freedom and joy you feel when dancing in your living room (or shower or car) to music that fills your soul. The difference is the addition of the energy of other people with you, doing the same. Find release, renewal, joy and healing in this beautiful practice. The best part is that everyone can do it! There are no rules except to be silent on the dance floor, refrain from wearing shoes, respect yourself and one another and most importantly, to dance however you wish. Align body, spirit and mind with the healing power of dance. We begin with a guided meditation and opening circle to provide connection with other dancers and an invitation to set an intention for the evening. PLEASE ARRIVE ON TIME. Music comprised of an electronic tapestry of global rhythms and styles, choreographed by the facilitator and DJ, Thea Izzi (aka Tara~Ma) takes the dancers on a musical journey from ethereal bliss to hip shaking fun and on to high energy grooving out and back down again to end in a place of stillness. Closing circle completes the container and newly created joy is ready to be embraced and sent out in to the world! We are a substance free, judgement free environment.
