Rene Vanderstok aka de Nachtpapegaai (Midnight Parrot) is a favorite Amsterdam DJ for the Ecstatic Dance boat called Odessa, and friends with our dear DJ Yarun Dee! Love, Samadhi ~ BIO: Rene Vanderstok De Nachtpapegaai (Dutch for Midnight Parrot) is color in the dark. This rare bird is a resident DJ at Odessa, a ship in Amsterdam where you can dance four times a week. His music is warm, colorful and meditative – “Like making tantric love on the dancefloor”, reports a dancer. And when the dancefloor wants to dance, there be dancing, on rumbling drums, vicious beats and electronic world rhythms from the deepest depths of the cosmic ocean. Some of my personal ecstatic dance favorites are in here – the two peak tracks can really shake you to the core if you go with it. There is also an intense deep Sufi tune in there (Journey to Eternity) that has become very dear to me because it challenges the dancers to really let go into themselves. This allows us to express ourselves freely without worry of looking good. On occasion, we offer photo and video days and will make sure everyone is aware. PARENTS: Children are welcome! (Please try this out first before bringing kids to make sure you approve) We ask that you keep a close watch on them at all times for everyone's safety. This is an opportunity to teach them how to be free and fun while dancing and respectful and quiet in the sacred circles we are creating together.
