Facilitator: Shalise, aka Shali Ma Description: With good reason, we’ve talked a lot about consent recently and the harm that can happen when we act on desires that are not in alignment with another. But those desires don’t typically just go away, so what do we do with them? In my experience personally and within my work I’ve noticed that desires that carry a layer of shame or guilt, reside in the shadow and can come out in distorted ways that may cause unintentional harm to ourselves or others. When we own these desires within ourselves or with others, we shine light on the shadow to learn from and bring loving compassion to this part of ourselves in order to integrate our wholeness.
