As our local Big Island ecstatic dance scene grew, Sky Makai grew along with it, becoming one of its premiere facilitators and eventually one of its most popular DJs. Teaching others from around the world how to connect to the scared rhythms of music and dance, Sky shared the profound experience that blessed his life, with many others searching for divine bliss through dance. Sky says: * I believe holding space through the Ecstatic Dance Guidelines catalyzes the unification of communities, so that those communities can support each other’s mutual healing and joy. * I facilitate Ecstatic Dance Journeys by creating custom improvised DJ sets that ignore the limitations of genres, focused on encouraging movement… mental, emotional and physical. * I teach what I know, so others may facilitate and host Ecstatic Dance around the world. Sunday’s Ecstatic Dance is a tradition that began twenty years ago at Kalani that keeps strong through hard times because of the love and support of its community. That’s you. Whether you’re currently on the Big Island or want to purchase a ticket from afar to donate to another dancer, the entire worldwide Ecstatic Dance community is grateful for your support on this fundraising effort to keep the original home of this amazing dance movement moving forward. These limited pre-sale tickets are available for $15 each. This is not a change in price, once Ecstatic Dance is back on a weekly schedule it will still be $10 per entry. This ticket is for the one time only re-opening event of Ecstatic Dance at Kalani.* Your purchase helps to support our non-profit operations during the COVID-19 crisis and allows us to strengthen programming such as yoga classes, permaculture education, and other community events.
