Ecstatic Dance with Live Music from Opposable Drums

This Friday, 22nd November, from 7:30pm to 9:30pm we have an Ecstatic Dance session with Opposable Drums playing live at The Pavilion in Hillsborough Park, Sheffield S6 4 HD. Cash payment on the door preferred: £8, £10 (unwaged, waged). You can pay by BACS transfer but please pay either beforehand or when you arrive. If you've not dancing to Opposable Drums before here's some info: Paul Mann and Matthew Laurie have played together for over 20 years and have a long history of performing a wide range of dance music genres including dub, drum and bass, reggae, African highlife, electro, blues, folk dance, jazz and west African percussion. Opposable Drums draws from this experience to offer 100% live electronic music to support a space within which dancers can find freedom. Live improvisation allows for dialogue between the musicians and dancers which deepens the collective journey through a non-stop set of tunes inspired by the wave of 5 Rhythms and Ecstatic dance. Join us for an eclectic progression through tribal grooves, harmonic house, driving techno, deep drum and bass, polyrhythmic percussion and chilled jazz vibes. Access to The Pavilion is through the large metal gates in the high fence protecting the bowling greens.
