About this Event

Sunday June 16th! Our Holualoa Ecstatic Dance journey continues with a very special Father's Day addition featuring one of the forefathers of our scene, Odysseus! Dean Odysseus Yacalis has been exploring the potential of dance to activate joy and uplift community since the nineties. He has shared his elegant, heart-chakra, frequencies and tribal-infused beats with full moon dancers from the California deserts and mountains to the Hawaiian and Greek Islands, and in clubs and ecstatic dances in Amsterdam, London, Belgium and across Germany. Join us in our outdoor space at the top of Buddha's Cup Coffee Farm featuring breathtaking views of the Kona coast! Come dance in nature along-side friends and family from our wonderful Kona dance tribe! Tap into your higher self through the power of movement and self-expression! Respect Personal Boundaries: Be mindful of the space around you and the movements of other dancers. Respect personal boundaries and avoid physical contact without explicit consent. No Judgement or Criticism: Embrace a non-judgmental attitude towards yourself and others. There are no right or wrong ways to move in ecstatic dance—every expression is valid and beautiful. If something doesn't feel right, honor your instincts and adjust your movements accordingly. Express Yourself Authentically: Allow yourself to express your emotions, desires, and intentions through movement. Dance from the heart and let your body be your guide. Maintain Sobriety: Ecstatic dance is typically practiced without the influence of drugs or alcohol. Maintaining sobriety helps participants to stay present and fully engaged in the experience. Respect the Music: Honor the music and the DJ's curation by moving in harmony with the rhythms and energy of the music. Allow the music to inspire and guide your movement. Arrive and Depart Mindfully: Enter and leave the dance space with mindfulness and respect. Take a moment to ground yourself upon arrival and offer gratitude as you depart. Participate with Intention: Approach ecstatic dance with an open heart and a willingness to connect with yourself, others, and the divine.
