About Ecstatic Dance: Ecstatic Dance is a worldwide conscious dance movement designed to facilitate free-form movement and self-expression. ED is a space for embodied exploration of body and spirit, self and other. Ecstatic Dance is a space of joy & play, and also an opportunity to dive deep into your emotional world. Dance, laugh, cry, yell, scream, be still--you are free to be authentically you in every moment. The three tenets of Ecstatic Dance are no shoes, no booze, and no talking and consent is paramount. About the DJ: Dante is the production manager of Ecstatic Dance DC. He plays dance music from every genre, with a special love for dubstep, trap, drum n bass and medicine music. He also teaches sound healing certification courses through Yoga Alliance. About Sound Healing: Sound meditation is the use of musical instruments during meditation to balance dissonant frequencies in the body and mind and bring them into harmony. Each tone and frequency affects us in a specific way–activating a different energy center, chakra, and organ system within the body. Dante uses crystal and metal singing bowls and polyphonic throat singing to create healing and uplifting vibrations.
