Ecstatic dance is a form of dance in which the dancers, sometimes without the need to follow specific steps, surrender themselves to the rhythm and move freely as the music takes them, leading to trance and a feeling of ecstasy. "Ecstatic Dance is not about looking good or following specific steps. Its about surrendering to the music and letting you body express its true essence." Guidelines: Be PRESENT. Pranava's sets are an eclectic mixture of sounds from soundscaping frequencies and healing vibrations, to mantra and medicine music, infused with African, Cuban, and Brazilian rhythms. His sets are influenced by the five rhythms of dance and he is an avid believer in the healing properties of dance. "Pranava is the primordial vibration of the universe aka "the cosmic sound. A name that was bestowed upon me by Hindu monks while traveling through India on a spiritual journey many years ago. Pranava is far beyond a single being or individual form it is omnipotent. A name and sound that unites us as we gather together singing and chanting the many names of the divine, celebrating life and dancing to the rhythm and beat of the indigenous cultures around the globe." She spent 7 years under the direct training of Bruce Frantzis, a master of the Taoist water lineage. She has taught and assisted with classes at the Energy Arts Training center in Colorado as well as at retreats in CA, Maui, and CO. Her approach to these practices is one of direct experience, with a focus on developing sensitivity to chi so that one can feel what is happening in the body and move into the more subtle layers of energetic activation. She emphasizes releasing the nerves in order to connect movement with breath and energy to access the healing and spiritual benefits of internal cultivation.
