About this Event

Our Thursday night dance tradition has transitioned from Garden Temple to Kalani! We're all working together to make this change as intimate and special as it deserves to be. In honor of our dance’s lineage, and to differentiate it from our Sunday dance offering, we calling our Thursday dances : KALANI ARTS EDUCATION PRESENTS... ECSTATIC TEMPLE ADMISSION: $10 Per Adult NO ALCOHOL & NO DRUGS PERMITTED HEADLINER : MADELION DJ Madelion is the Co-Founder of Ecstatic Dance Salt Lake City, and has organized and facilitated 300+ Dances and has hosted 100+ Ecstatic Dance Artists from around the World. Her musical inspiration derives from her deep connection to the healing power of music and dance as medicine and expression of the self through movement, forming the glue that holds communities together and providing the foundation upon which we discover the shared meaning of our lives. DJ Madelion views life through the lens of the Spirit of Dance. Dance being the embodied response of the entire spectrum of human emotions that connect humans to the divine vibrations of a life of inter-being. On the dance floor, as stewardess of sound, she surrenders to the role of doula, inviting thirsting bodies towards renewal in the river of the Ecstatic. Luring the slumbering muses and mystics within the fabric of our souls to awaken to the sounds of angelic voices and thundering drums, she harnesses the efforts of generations of technology both modern and ancient. Since the dawn of human time on Mother Gaia, the tribes have gathered around the drum in order to Remember... Today, the drums have multiplied and the voices are many- join your kin in celebration of your birthright as we Dance the new more beautiful world into being. “Rise like Lions after slumber In unvanquishable number-- Shake your chains to earth like dew Which in sleep had fallen on you Ye are many-- They are few.” -Percy Bysshe Shelley ECSTATIC TEMPLE : At the heart of the Big Island jungle beats a dance experience unlike any other. Honoring the Ecstatic Dance guidelines that emphasize the spiritual connectivity of dance, our Thursday night offerings are a little edgier and more experimental than our Sunday dances.
