He sang with some big name orquestas: Caló, Di Sarli, Francini-Pontier, and Laurenz. He was a big dramatic voice — his singing in "Alma de Bohemia" by Laurenz's orquesta is a good example. I may have talked about this before, but I got to see him live before his passing in 2015. One day in January 2011, Jamie, Gary and I were talking down Ave. de Mayo in Buenos Aires (Jamie was living there and we were visiting), and we spotted a poster saying A. Podestá will be singing on Wednesday that week. Jamie went in and asked "Is this A. Podestá that Podestá?" and it was. He was pretty old by then, but boy he still had the chops!
