About this Event

The Day of the Dead is a celebration of special people who are deceased. The holiday is a unique mixture of indigenous and European cultures celebrated throughout Mexico each year on November 1st. During the holiday people gather together to pay their respects and remember family members and friends who were significant to us in some way. For our Milonga we will be celebrating with a tribute to composers and conductors of Tango music. We ask those interested in doing so to identify a piece of Tango music that you particularly enjoy and to bring the name of the composer/conductor and some details to remember them by. A wonderful resource to explore for that purpose is TodoTango. How does this song or composer influence your dance? This is an opportunity and an invitation to investigate the origins of your personal favorite Tango music and the people who brought it to life. Beginner dancers are encouraged to participatein the Milonga. First time dancers are Free, and 30 mins of lesson at 7:00-7:30. then followed by Milonga starting at 7:30-9:00 intermission at 9:00 * Snacks and refreshments * Musician's remembrance *birthday Dance for those with October or November birthdays Second part of Milonga starting 9:30-11:00 $20/person, First time attendance is Free, please leave your name and contact information.
