EL ENCUENTRO turns 27 & ANGEL turns 87 BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION!!!!

What does it mean when the longest running milonga in Southern California turns 27 and it's founder turns 87? It means it's TIME TO PARTY!!!! Angel Echeverria celebrated his 60th birthday in 1999 by opening El Encuentro. He never imagined that it would still be welcoming dancers almost three decades later. He never imagined that it would become world-famous. He never imagined that it would be instrumental in changing lives. He just wanted to replicate the feeling of the milongas he had experienced as a young dancer in Buenos Aires. Let's celebrate the fact that both Angel and El Encuentro have endured! We're excited that Super DJ Derek Tang will be in charge of starting the party off with a bang at 9pm and keeping you on your feet till 3am! (no pre-milonga class tonight). We're excited that guest artist Mariela Marco will sing a selection of beloved tandas for your dancing pleasure. We're excited that El Encuentro and Angel can add another year into the history book of tango in Los Angeles.
