Embodied Explorations: A Journey through Movement, Voice & Play October 24–26, 2025 | Apokoronas l Chania, Crete After a deeply moving first edition in April, we are delighted to welcome back Javier Cura — and this time, he is joined by the multidisciplinary voice and embodiment artist Moss Beynon Juckes. Organized with care and enthusiasm by Daphne and Eledina, passionate devotees of embodied arts, this second gathering in Apokoronas invites you into an even richer landscape of connection, expression, and transformation. A continuation of a journey In April, a circle of movers gathered in Tsivaras to explore dance beyond form — weaving together Contact Improvisation, Tango, Tai Chi, and play. The energy, the joy, and the depth of that experience called for a continuation. This October, we expand that vision with the profound integration of voice, breath, and collective sound. --- With Javier Cura: From Animal Flow to Intuitive Expression Javier Cura’s work blends Contact Improvisation, Tango, Tai Chi, and animal movement into a living inquiry of the body. Through spirals, resistance, elasticity, momentum and trust, we’ll explore the body as an intuitive instrument — open, playful, and deeply present. From biomechanics to pure improvisation, from solo to ensemble, we move beyond dance “styles” into the felt freedom of being danced. Through the lenses of play, sensorial awareness, and creative risk, we’ll explore how movement expresses emotion, relationships, and the evolving landscapes of the self. --- With Moss Beynon Juckes: The Sonic Body & Collective Embodied Singing Moss guides us into the power of the voice as both personal and collective medicine. Drawing on Kundalini yoga, mantra, somatic voice work, improvisation, and embodiment practices, Moss invites us to rediscover the voice-body connection from within. Through physical and vocal warm-ups, guided scores, breathwork, and vocal improvisation, we tune in to our inner landscape — meeting fear, emotion, clarity, and joy. From there, we move into collective embodied singing, where voice becomes vibration, presence, and connection.
