The ability to connect to oneself, to music, and to others through movement is more than a physical experience. It is an experience that can be an emotional, intellectual, and spiritual one. Touch in our modern world is often sexualized and romanticized but was never meant to be limited to these contexts. In fact, touch is a language that communicates support, care, and healing. Connection begins with self and extends beyond us, enabling us to connect to our environment and other people primarily through our senses. When mindfully used and combined, these three concepts can form a foundation for satisfying experiences with others on and off the dance floor, regardless of one's technical level. Additionally, seasoned dancers can deepen the journey and experience of dance in new ways. He first learned and eventually teach salsa, bachata and merengue - his first partner dances - and then went on to learn Kizomba, UrbanKiz and Brazilian Zouk. Fueled by his background in reiki and yoga, Nii infuses concepts of inner peace, communication, and healing to complement connection and musicality, letting him bring smooth flows and cosmic connections to the floor. Connect with Nii: IG: @niiashikwei @danceflowhaven Website: www.iamnii.com Lunna, Kendra, and Nii are collaborating to create Embodiment, a workshop designed to introduce and expose participants to these wonderful life-changing concepts. They each specialize in different areas and dance forms, drawing from movement, touch, and connection in the work that they do. This workshop is aimed at both new and experienced dancers and doesn't focus on any one dance style in particular but rather on the underlying elements that are applicable to different dance styles. We are confident in the value this will add to not only your dance journey, but the rest of your day-to-day life as well. Come join us at our event for a fun, educational and immersive experience that aims to explore these concepts.
