Empowering women through dance LUCIA Nogueira

Dance is life SPECIAL EVENT FOR KIZOMBA WOMEN Kizomba in its roots takes place in a community setting. It is a tapestry of relationships flavored with a rich history and cultural background. Kizomba is an Angolan dance but it quickly became a point of communion in between all the different cultures that are part of the PALOP communities (Portuguese speaking African countries). In its truest state dance is a part of the daily life of the populations, encompassing different forms of expression and different meanings behind it. Dance is life, we will see that there is much more that unites us rather than separates us. In this workshop we will review different concepts that are part of the community life, focusing on the Woman’s role both in dance and life.
