Nos alojamos en el Centro Cultural Riochante, Monteverde, el cual es un proyecto comunitario en constante evolución. Se encuentra en una casa histórica a la par de un rio, en el centro de Monteverde y ha sido utilizada como centro comunitario desde los años 50. Cuenta con un círculo de fogata, senderos, huertas, horno artesanal y salón de danza. Se usa baño seco y en general las condiciones son rústicas para la convivencia. Recientemente, gracias a una donación, un panel solar para abastecernos de electricidad, la cual es limitada. Favor traer candelas y linternas. Ya tenemos el elemento vital del agua para el consumo, lavar y ducharse, gracias al esfuerzo de la comunidad. Estas condiciones básicas nos permiten aprender y apreciar lo que es esencial para vivir. Por favor traer comida para compartir (frutas, verduras, legumbres, pasta, arroz, avena, cacao, café, especias, comida preferiblemente vegetariana), productos de aseo, bolsas de basura y papel higiénico. Lo que guste para compartir es bienvenido. Es un evento autosustentable, solidario, sin fines de lucro y por ende se les estaremos solicitando regularmente una COLABORACIÓN CONSCIENTE para cubrir nuestros propios gastos para el gas y otras eventualidades que puedan surgir, comprar alimentos específicos necesarios. Esta vez durante el encuentro haremos varias actividades y talleres para integrar la comunidad local al grupo del encuentro. Con un enfoque en temas culturales, artísticos y holísticos estas actividades serán parte de un evento local organizado por Riochante y CICR que se llama "Monteverde en Movimiento". Será una hermosa oportunidad para compartir con personas miembros importantes de la comunidad de Monteverde y nutrir de conocimientos y experiencias integrales a los participantes del encuentro. HOSPEDAJE: Gratis Hay espacio para acampar. Tendremos espacio para colocar su propia colchoneta en espacios comunes. Importante, traer cobijas, colchonetas y lo indispensable para un buen dormir y aseo personal. Se recomienda llevar abrigo suficiente y ropa impermeable. Hay posibilidad de alquilar un espacio privado o compartido en un hotel cercano, si lo prefiere. No duden en contactarnos para sugerencias. COMIDA: Tenemos uso de una cocina de gas. Cada uno aporta la comida, de acuerdo a sus condiciones, con carácter siempre incluyente, para que siempre abunde la comida. Trabajamos en equipo para lo que es la cocina y la limpieza. Alimentos: sugerimos comprar en Chepe y en sacos(ej.:saco de avena), sugerimos que lo consigan entre varios. Monteverde a San José 5:30am y 2:30pm Llegar con por lo menos media hora de antelación si no han comprado el tiquete de antemano. Desde la última parada en el centro comercial de Santa Elena (Monteverde), hay buses públicos y taxis que los pueden llevar a Riochante, costo del taxi 2.500 colones contiguo a la Fábrica de Quesos y el Instituto de Monteverde. We invite you to come dance, play, move, meditate, walk, explore, jam and experience living and sharing in movement. The event is hosted by Riochante Cultural Center, Monteverde, which is a constantly evolving community project. It is located in a historic house beside a river in the heart of Monteverde, and has been used as a community center since the early 1950's. It has access to mountain bike and hiking trails, a bonfire pit, a handmade earth oven, and a dance space. There is an outdoor composting toilet and in general the space offers very rustic living conditions. Recently, thanks to a donation, a solar panel has been installed and provides limited electricity. Please bring candles and flashlights. We now have running water to drink, wash and shower with, thanks to a considerable community effort. These very basic living conditions allow us to learn and appreciate what is essential for living. Please bring food to share, such as fruits, vegetables, grains, pasta, oats, rice, cacao, coffee, spices and vegetarian food in general. Also cleaning products, garbage bags and toilet paper. You are more than welcome to bring anything you would like to share. The event is self-sustained and nonprofit and we will therefore be regularly asking for a CONSCIOUS CONTRIBUTION to cover basic expenses such as water, gas, cleaning products and food items as needed. This time during the event we will be holding various activities and workshops in order to integrate the local community with the group at the gathering. These activities will be centered around cultural, artistic and holistic topics and will be part of a local event organized by Riochante and CICR called “Monteverde in Movement”. It will be a lovely opportunity to share with important members of the community of Monteverde and to nourish the gathering’s participants with integral learning and experiences. LODGING: Free There is a spot to camp in and there is also space to put a mat down in the shared rooms of the main house. Bring blankets, sleeping bags and whatever you need to sleep comfortably. The weather is often windy, rainy and cool in July, so please don’t forget warm clothes. There are also a number of hotels, lodges and hostels in the area if shared sleeping space is not for you. If you need suggestions don’t hesitate to contact us. FOOD: We have a gas stove for cooking. We ask that each person bring food according to their possibilities, so that food is always abundant. Some may be able to bring more than others. We work as a team for all cooking and cleaning chores. IMPORTANT: Please bring your own cup, bowl and cutlery. If you can donate a tea towel to dry dishes with, they are always needed. TRANSPORTATION: Coming from San Jose, take the bus to Monteverde, Santa Elena, at 7-10 Bus Terminal, it costs 3.035 colones. There are two buses a day: San Jose to Monteverde, 6:30am and 2:30pm Monteverde to San Jose, 5:30am and 2:30pm Arrive at least a half an hour beforehand if you haven’t bought your ticket in advance. From the last stop at the Santa Elena mall, there are buses and taxis that can take you to Riochante. A taxi from the mall to Riochante costs around 2.500 colones. Riochante is located on the main road to the Cloudforest Reserve, right after the Monteverde Cheese Factory, across the bridge, on the right-hand side.
