Erin and Doruk Tango - 2 Saturdays in Traverse City

International teachers and performers Erin Malley and Doruk Golcu return to Traverse City, Michigan for two Saturdays to elevate your Argentine Tango! Open to dancers of all experience levels. No partner needed. Saturday, July 25th: Basic Rhythms of Tango: Understanding Tango, Vals and Milonga In this workshop, we will cover the differences between the three commonly danced-to rhythms of tango, vals and milonga. We will also offer a palette of ideas for what types of movement tend to work well in each situation, and what tends to work well socially. Workshop 6-8pm Milonga (social dance) 8-10pm Saturday, August 1st: Deconstructing El Basico: How all of tango is basically one figure Geared towards dancers with a basic understanding of the common figures in tango, this class will examine how Argentine Tango works from a structural standpoint. Regardless of your stylistic preferences, this workshop shows the commonalities that are applicable worldwide.
