Echoing through the early morning mist of a sunday morning in the redwood forest, is the Arcata Ecstatic Dance. On this particular Sunday we are honored to bring you the deep and other worldly sounds of @Erothyme. Erothyme is the electronic music project of Bobby West, driven by a lifelong love of evocative sound. Across 10 years and 27 releases, the project has branched out considerably while somehow maintaining its peculiar fingerprint. The music covers a wide range of moods and energy levels, and is forged from a broad, ever-shifting sound palette. Erothyme has his roots in glitchy, funky electronic dance music, but he is most recognized for the 2014 downtempo album Circadia, which is appreciated for its spacious atmosphere, silky textures, deep bass, hypnotic beats, and centered vibes. Over the past decade, with the diverse selection of music within his catalog, Erothyme has performed at events ranging from concerts, to outdoor festivals, to ecstatic dance gatherings, to ambient meditation and sound-healing sessions, to underground warehouse ragers, adapting to each situation accordingly Erothyme has produced official remixes for Emancipator, Invisible Allies, Papadosio, Desert Dwellers, Liquid Bloom, Wildlight, Poranguí, Aligning Minds, Subaqueous, Lespecial, Atyya, Anilah, The Human Experience, Kai Altair, and more. Alex Grey once described Erothyme's music as "like milking the Moon," while Bluetech described it as "really lovely, spacious, thoughtful, intelligent, subtle, atmospheric, emotional, tender, delicate, wonderous electronic music." With each passing year, new terrain continues to be explored and new boundaries continue to be pushed, building upon the vast landscape of music that has come before, reaching always toward chunkier beats and deeper expressions of the soul. This dance has been inevitable since the first moments Erothyme's deep juicy sounds touched our ears.
