Expedition into the now ( Movement arts retreat in the nature of South Goa ) >> Dates: 11-14th March 2024 Nestled within a forest of wildlife sanctuary and tranquil river, this retreat will focus on the direct, interconnected relation between human and nature. Entering through the movement practices grounded in dance improvisation, contact improvisation, butoh, contemporary dance, instant compositions and theatre, we will seek source of creativity, inspiration, and wisdom in moving with nature. We will contemplate, research, and dance the questions: • What contribution can human make in the great togetherness of life and how could we participate in a more symbiotic way? How can we learn from the wild to enrich our dance practice ? Some proposed practices will include: 1. The compositional repositioning & contextual relocation of human in nature. 2. The human being integrated into nature. Finding – as landscape or creature –environment in our non-exchangeable habitat. The retreat is open for everyone - no previous experience with movement is required. During the retreat our base will be in a resort, providing us with comfortable shelter and nourishing food. Everyday we will enter into the nature for guided explorations in morning and evening sessions. During middays we will have time for individual process of integrating, contemplating, and resting. In the nights we will gather for bonfire and movement jams. >> Costs 15,000-20,000 Rs sliding scale, depending on the booked housing. Includes three vegetarian meals, housing, and program.
