Exploring Confluences

(chce-li se zúčastnit někdo, kdo nemluví anglicky, ozvěte se mi - Irena Janíková) Discovering CI and BMC® through the approach of Urs Stauffer I met Steve Paxton for the first time in 1989 and was deeply impressed by his dance. The year after, 1990, I had for the first time the chance to work with Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen and knew right away that Body-Mind Centering® would be a life time project for me. Ever since I kept working with both of these persons that are of great influence in my movement research. In this workshop I would like to share and explore with you some insights of each approach as I understand them and how I use them in basic combination in order that each technique informs and supports the other one. We will explore basic ideas such as our relationship to gravity, initiating movement from the organs and some other core experiences of the dancing body. I am Somatic Movement Educator and Practitioner certified by the School of Body-Mind Centering and teach Contact Improvisation with the personal agreement of Steve Paxton. --- Beginners in the field of CI and/or BMC are welcome.
