Fall Equinox Celebration w Yemanjo feat. Irene Rosalia

Beloved community, we invite you to gather this Sunday morning at the beautiful Sweets Ballroom to celebrate the turning of the seasons with dance, connection, and sound. Together we’ll honor the Fall Equinox - balancing light and dark, body and spirit through movement, music, and ritual. We begin with Dance Alchemy guided by Kaiya Ashanti, inviting us into sacred embodiment through elemental movement. From there, Nick Johnson will host Between Two Hearts, playful connection practices to open us deeper into presence with one another. At the heart of the morning, we are thrilled to welcome Yemanjo, the globe-spanning musical project of Ben Harris, joined by the radiant Irene Rosalia. Their live hybrid set weaves downtempo and organic house with trumpet, percussion, and soul-stirring vocals; an alchemy of sounds from Latin America, Africa, and the Middle East, carrying us into ecstatic release. To close, Ode & Echo (Arula & Nick) will guide us into stillness with a sound meditation and vocal activation, offering a gentle landing for the body and spirit. Raised in the rich culture of California’s Bay Area, Harris’ work is influenced by the world music styles he has encountered through his extensive travels. In a contemporary reality based on division and categorization, Yemanjo's music aims to break down the borders that divide us as cultures and individuals, and honor the diversity of human expression through sound.
