Fall for Swing

Giving Back to the Seattle WCS Community! I’ve been a part of the Seattle WCS community for over ten years now, and that’s just a small fraction of how long this community has been thriving in Seattle. The Seattle Swing Dance Club (SSDC) is considered the longest-running swing dance club in the country, having been founded in 1965. As a non-profit organization, SSDC offers WCS to the community and has greatly influenced many studios and instructors in the field. I count myself among them. It pains me to say that when I attend SSDC dances, the sound equipment leaves much to be desired. Dance is all about movement to music, and sound quality plays a crucial role in the overall experience. For many, SSDC is the first introduction to WCS and partner dancing, and I believe the sound quality should match the joy this dance can bring, which we all know is very high. In the spirit of giving thanks, I'm hosting a dance next week to give back to the community that has positively impacted so many lives. All proceeds will go toward improving the sound system for our Swing Community. Event Details: Date: November 2nd, 2024 Time: 7:00 PM - 12:00 AM Location: Versal Ballroom Schedule of Events: 7:00 PM - Just a Drop-In: Intermediate Class - $10 Join us for “That's the Phrase...” where we will explore two ways to acknowledge and hit the phrase change. 8:00 PM - Just a Drop-In: All-Levels Class - $10 Participate in “Layers of Musicality 1-3.” We will explore the first three layers of how to be musical in your WCS dancing! 9:00 PM - Dance Party - $10 Let loose and dance the night away with our amazing DJs! Featuring: Lord Za and additional DJs to be announced. Special Offer: Take both classes and enjoy the dance for free! Mark Your Calendars!
