About this Event

Halloween costumes encouraged for the social dance! Celebrate Hamilton Day with us on the dance floor & join us for a Full Day of Swing Dancing! Get ready for a day of learning and dancing with wonderful teachers visiting us from Toronto, Brady and Hyuana. This event is designed for both new and experienced dancers, with lessons tailored to different levels and a lively evening social to bring it all together. 1 PM to 3 PM Intermediate Lesson: Combining & Committing: Levelling Up What You've Already Got You already know the moves — now it’s time to make them dance together. In this class, we take the patterns, rhythms, and ideas you already have and show you how to connect them into smooth, expressive sequences that feel fresh and exciting. You’ll learn how to make creative choices in the moment, build variety into your dancing, and commit fully to your movement so it looks (and feels) intentional. Whether you’re looking to refine transitions, add new energy, or just make your dancing pop, this class is all about turning what you know into something that feels brand new. 3:30 PM - 5:30 PM Beginner Lesson: Zero To Hero Jumpstart your Lindy Hop journey in just one day! This workshop focuses on the core 6-count patterns that power most social dancing — from tuck turns to send-outs and passes. You’ll learn how to find your groove, connect comfortably with a partner, and move with confidence on the dance floor. The goal isn’t to memorize routines, but to dance socially — to listen to the music, lead and follow naturally, and have fun while doing it. No experience or partner needed — just bring your curiosity, your energy, and maybe some comfy shoes! 6:30 PM to 7:00 PM Collegiate Shag Taster (included with all ticket options) Before the evening dance begins, join us for a short Collegiate Shag taster. This is a great way to get introduced to another energetic swing style and prepare for our upcoming class series. 7:00 to 9 PM Evening Social Dance Cap off the day with our social dance, featuring live music by the Peter Banting Swingtet. This is the perfect chance to put your new skills into practice, meet other dancers, and enjoy an evening of great music and community. Since it’s Halloween, we encourage everyone to dress up in costume and add to the festive spirit!
